One way a person becomes closer to Aten is through prayers and hymns. Those who worshiped Aten in the ancient past have provided Atenists with many beautiful hymns that we are able to use not only as a part of our Scriptures but also as a book of songs in praise to the Aten the One God.

We also pray to Aten and share our faith about Him and our beliefs with others on a regular basis.

Some passages from our texts:

"You are never alone. The love of God is everywhere."

"You should never be ashamed of your love for Aten. He was not ashamed of you being brought into this world. Share the light of Aten with all peoples of the world."

To stay close to Aten, a regular, daily practice should be developed that is surrounded by devotion to Him and the teachings provided in the sacred texts. Meditating and contemplating on these texts and their meaning will help a person maintain a close knit bond with Aten and you to remain with His loving light.
